After being bombarded with snow I decided to get this ice chopper to clear off that packed snow and ice that the snow shovel can't get at effectively. It's not as light weight as I thought it would be. It's also not as simple as just lifting it and having gravity "do all of the work". It definitely requires some upper body strength to scrape the pavement clean. For the really tough patches of ice, I just gave up. This ice chopper wasn't going to crack it. But the craftmanship is sturdy and looks as if it will last for many more winters to come. At the end of the day, it's a tool with no frills and does what it's supposed to.
