We've had ice buckets before where the glass was too thin and they would literally crack when you dropped ice in them. Not sure what people mean by saying this bucket is too small - not sure how many people they are trying to entertain. It absolutely holds a bottle of wine (not a 1L, but a regular size). Perfect for putting out ice for 4-6 people, or chilling a bottle of vino. Loved it so much that we ordered 5 more for guests to use in our bed and breakfast.
