I don't know how it is that my household has gone through three ice cream scoops, but we have. The first one was the Oxo Good Grips Points Ice Cream Scoop, believe it or not this one actually bent while scooping and I could never get the scoop straightened out. The next was the Oxo Good Grips Trigger Ice Cream Scoop and had I purchased it here on Amazon the reviews might have warned me against it, but I bought it in store and it broke within a few uses. More recently I have been using a cheapy plastic dollar store scoop and although it works, its lime green and not necessarily what I wanted.
So here we are with the Art and Cook Dessert Scoop Zinc Positive Collection in Charcoal. So far it's working like a champ! I eat ice cream occasionally, but there are those in our house that indulge several times a week. The grip handle on this is very good at preventing slips. The scoop is a nice size and the angle of it works well. The claim of "cuts through the permafrost of the hardest ice cream" may be a bit exaggerated, but it hasn't bent and all in all it's exactly what I needed.
