On many occasions a glass would arrive to our store broken, or get dropped while being stocked to the shelves. These glasses were the exception. I've personally seen these glasses dropped to the floor and not break. The heavy base increases their stability and the thickness makes me feel safer about sticking my hand in them when I'm washing them. These aren't the prettiest glasses you'll ever see, but they'll last longer than any you've ever had. The design is such that kids hang onto them easier also, and thats a plus in my house.
