Follow up comment: 7/25/09 - The only problem I have been experiencing with this bottle is that the silicone lining inside the top-cap, which is supposed to create a water-tight seal, starts to smell after a couple of days of use. It's not that big of a deal. But you will need to wash the cap in soap every other day or so to get rid of the smell.
I own this one as well as the 18 Oz pop-cap type Thermos. I love them both. But I use the 26 Oz bottle most of the time because I don't have to refill so often. I use it at home and while playing tennis outside or at the club. It's summer now and I love using all the time. The loop attaching the cap to bottle is removable and got rid of the loop on day 1. It's much more convenient without it. These are the things I like about this thermos:
1. This one does the job very well - keeps the water at the same temperature for several hours.
2. The bottle doesn't condense water (AT ALL!) on the outside when cold water is inside.
3. The opening is PERFECT size for drinking most comfortably. The water flow is constant and you won't choke when trying to gulp down with bottoms up.
4. It's really not much bigger than non-insulated bottles of the same size.
5. Fits in most cup holders
6. Very hygienic with no exposure to plastics. It's 100% stainless steel. The only place it's not is on tops of the openings - where to screw the top cap and main cap. They used silicone type material in order to create a seal when closed.
7. Does not leak.
8. Last but definitely not the least - MAKES YOU DRINK MORE WATER. I have been drinking way more water than before.
Go for it. It's a great product. You will keep thanking yourself in the many years of use. I've have it for a couple of months, but haven't gone a day without using it.
BTW, I totally disagree with the reviewer that gave this product 1 star. Just because this one has a screw cap doesn't mean it's not a hydration bottle. I use it for the very purpose - hydration - at home and when I play tennis. You know, all professional athletes drink out of bottles with screw caps on them. You mean to say, that's not hydrating. It's ridiculous.
