(More customer reviews)I recently installed a copper funnel Japanese rain chain for use near my front door.Copper Funnel Rain Chain. I had never even heard of these things until a couple of years ago when I was trying to get some information about rain gutters off the internet. I saw quite a few links to Japanese rain chains and not knowing what they were I clicked on some of the links. I was really impressed with the idea and the various designs of them. Nobody I talked to had even heard of them so I wouldnt be suprised if I were the only one in the tri-county area that even has one. Well I might be exagerating about the tri-county area but I have yet to see one for sale at a "brick and morter" store. Anyway I went ahead and purchased my rain gutters and installed them myself and used the rain chain for the downspout on my front door overhang. For some reason I thought they would be bigger, maybe the size of coffee cans but they arne't. The top of the funnel measures three and one quarter inches across. I ended up replacing the section of gutter that I have the rain chain on because the downspout fitting was kind of cheesy looking so I got a new section and cut it to length (6 feet) and put the end caps on it. Instead of using a downspout fitting I just drilled a 1 1/4 inch hole in it. I had to modify the copper wire hanger piece but thats easy enough to do. All you need is a pliers. The rain chain was longer than I needed so I just removed some of the cups to get the length I needed. It started raining an hour after I installed it so I got to see it in action and it works great. As a matter of fact it's raining right now so I took a picture and will post it later. As for ordering it from Amazon.com I am once again a happy camper or customer as the case may be. They have never let me down.
