(More customer reviews)If you like snowflakes, this is the cartridge for you! It is fairly easy to use and has many designs. One thing I didn't realize when I got it is that reindeer, trees, ski poles, and even dreidels are built into some of the snowflake deesigns, so it is very interesting. My one complaint is that because the snowflakes are so intricate, it is very difficult to cut them out on Cricut in a size smaller than about 3 or 4 inches or so. In a number of cases there was a lot of punching out that had to be done, and doing this on small 1" to 2 1/2" inch snowflakes was very difficult. So this is a good cartridge if you want to make big snowflakes, 4" or larger, and I'm sure it would be great if you wanted party or wall decor. If you want small snowflakes, use a simpler snowflake design on another Cricut cartridge or a snowflake punch and don't try to use this one. But I played with this for an hour or so at my last scrapbook retreat and made some beautiful snowflakes of white vellum, overlaying blue cardstock. The vellum cut nicely as long as the snowflakes were large enough and the punching out went easily, again, as long as they are large enough.
The only other issue I have with this and all these limited edition cartridges is thatthere is no book or case, so you have to cut the top of the package and then still keep the item in its package unless you have other Cricuit items to hold cartridges. Additionally, I wear bifocals and it is very difficult for me to see the designs of the snowflake that I am punching out on the keyboard. If there was a book that listed the designs in order but blew them up so they are larger, that would have been mighty helpful. The snowflakes are pictured in the materials on the cartridge but not in the order that they occur on the keypad, and I made several mistakes when trying to cut a particular design, such as the ice skate snowflake for an ice skating scrapbook page. Just a thought--raise the price point a little and include a book next time, Provo-Craft! And how about some type of case for these limited edition cartridges while you are at it...don't know where I am going to store them yet.
