(More customer reviews)This refrigerator replaced one of those double door refrigerators that had 5 freezer shelves which were too narrow to accomodate frozen pizzas or a 22 lb turkey. I hated the old fridge. It looked nice, but was pretty useless and impractical.
My new Kitchenaid refrigerator/freezer is great. Food items are clearly visible and there is plenty of storage space on both doors that allow for varied heigths depending on your needs. Electronic controls allows for consistent temp. Vegetable and fruit storage is accomodated with large bins and coldcuts and cheeses have their own storage drawers. There is an alarm that alerts you if the doors are not properly closed and a constant readout indicating temperature. A water dispenser is mounted on an exterior door which I don't use much.
The lower mounted freezer has two deep baskets that hold pretty much everything with an adjustable slide for more efficient storage.
The stainless steel exterior glistens and offers a lot of flexibility re: home decor. The exterior does require a weekly cleaning with stainless cleaner.
I like the quality, performance, and appearance and bought as second similar unit without the water dispenser.

Many people want the water "cooler," but if I want my water cold I will add ice. Plus, I am not adding more appliances to my already fully stocked collection of power sucking amenities.
I have used both squared and round water bottles with no problems, and the somewhat unstable looking base is more than strong enough to support a full load. The base is also adjustable if you have to place it on an imperfect floor.

The crock is creme with two blue stripes and is made from 100% lead free vitrified porcelain. It measures 10 inches in height with a 10 inch bottom diameter. The crock has a 2-3 gallon water reservoir and will easily support a 5 gallon water bottle. This is a lovely crock that would look wonderful in anyone's kitchen or in the den. The stand is made of 3/4 in oak hard wood. Also a wonderful way to serve your favorite beverage at your next social gathering. (More customer reviews)Jar looks very nice. However note that the spigot is very narrow and slow. Can be frustrating to initial users, but it is possible to get used to it over time.
Bought this in May. Used extensively to store water and use every day. Spigot twist top has broken off in December. Don't seem to be able to find a replacement part easily. Don't even know what it takes to get it and replace it.
If you are considering this for frequent use, beware and prepare for a stress induced broken spigot.

LG : LSC27910TT Refrigerator Review

Their customer service was always poor, but I just didn't realize how poor....and I'm not even going to elaborate on the dropped calls, the false promises of return calls, and the unwillingness to resolve the situation, I'll just report on the poor quality of the product...
Bought the LG LSC27910TT in July of 2008. Within 2 mo. the refrigerator was holding 62F on the coldest setting and the freezer was at -20F at the warmest setting. Basically, there was a damper that wasn't sending cold air to the fridge and it was sending the humid air into the freezer, so frost was collecting very quickly in the freezer. It took 4wks to get a new LSC27910TT from LG. They sent me a new one due to the part being backordered....which means what??? Yes....this is a common issues with this model.....very common. So...it will take a minimum of 4wks for you to get a replacement fridge if you have this issue.
Now....onto the new one. They sent a new one, not refurbed, but new. And yes....this one is now broken. The ice cube flap on the door (which works via a motor) will not open when ice falls to the door....so it's jammed every time. Sent for replacement parts....turned out not repairable. Meanwhile, talking to LG is like talking to my 8wk old....I actually get more of a response from him. I wanted a new model. No dice!!! They wanted to charge me 1/2 the difference. A good try, but I'm not throwing any more of my money LG's way.
I still don't have the 3rd fridge, but I sure hope it works!

Avanti Hot and Cold Water Dispenser - White Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this water dispenser for my office after the old one quit working. Having read quite a few reviews, I felt comfortable that I was getting a good product.
Once set up and filled with water, we discovered that the water it dispensed had a horrible chemical taste and smell. I immediately called Avanti, who told me they do not warranty the taste of the water dispensed, only the unit itself, and was given a lengthy process to try to flush the unit out and get rid of the bad taste. It involved dumping in bleach and much rinsing - and took quite a while. At the end, the water still tasted just as bad. Since Avanti customer service had these rinsing directions at hand to give when I called, I must assume they are aware of the problem with the dispensers and probably field these type of complaints frequently.
Since we were unable to return the unit, I continued flushing water through it hoping to lessen the bad taste. Finally I poured in white vinegar and some water and let it sit all day, and then drained it out and rinsed several times. Success - water finally tastes good to drink. The unit seems to be working properly now, but I am disappointed that a product purchased brand new should have required that much work in order to use it for its intended purpose.

(More customer reviews)The cooler seemed to work ok, would take a long time to cool, didn't time it because that wasn't an issue with me. Used the hot water once, took 3 minutes to heat up. I usually put the water in the microwave and heat it that way, much faster. My problem with this cooler is the slow speed it dispensed water, very slow. The manual or on the box said something like .1 gallons per hour! I could see dying of thirst using this cooler, I live in a desert, can't wait that long for a cup of water.

(More customer reviews)Over all this is a nice looking, well made crock. I don't think you can beat it for the price. There are 2 things I would change, however. First, the metal looking spout is really plastic. Second, inside the top of the crock is sort of a lip where liquids can get into if it is full enough. It has the potential to be a nasty place where you cannot get a cleaning rag. I'm just using it for filtered water. But, something sugary could get messy. The lip should have been closed up.

(More customer reviews)Product left strong odor of taste and plastic in the water. Problem lingered after filling and flushing over a dozen times and soaking overnight in vinegar. Considering that the product was made in China, I suspect that it was not made with food-grade plastic.
Dealing with the marketplace vendor was also extremely disappointing. Getting the product returned and a refund issued took four phone calls and three weeks. I ended up paying the shipping cost both ways which was equal to one third of the purchase price. In the future I will be avoiding: Sunpentown, Unbeatable Deals, and Amazon marketplace orders. It's not worth the hassle. Very disappointed.

(More customer reviews)I followed the preparation instructions to the letter and two days later I was getting complaints from co-workers that the flow was too slow and that, most importantly, it was leaking at a mild but consistent rate...and not from the drains at the bottom of the unit but from the seams along the sides of the bottom, especially if it were tilted (we don't normally tilt our water dispenser but I did tilt it and it definitely increased in its pour rate). The unit would just sit there and leak at a slow but, again, consistent and irritating rate. I wish that I had just not bought it but I am glad that we have the old tall tower that this unit was to replace because of its nice size.
Think again before you buy this.

(More customer reviews)We own one for over 6 years now. Love it. Only problem is that because it's mechanical (air pump), that eventually wears out. I think the seal in the pump need replacing. It used to to fill a cup with just one pump, but now takes 10 or more pumps.
Other than that, I love it. I am looking at purchasing a new one, the kind that uses electric pump.

After contacting customer service and going back and forth for over a month (because its impossible to get anything other than an answering machine when you call), FedEx was at my house every day to pick up the product for an investigation to see if it was damaged in shipping. Only one problem - it was a gift and was not in my possession. I continued going back and forth with customer service until I was fed up with the company. I told the woman (Jamie) to forget it because I was done with their company. She replied that they were going outside of their return policy for me and doing me a favor and then HUNG UP ON ME! What kind of customer service is "going out of their way and doing you a favor" if you receive a faulty product??? And this one wasnt cheap - $126! After several attempts I finally got a supervisor on the phone who told me that she was sorry the product quality wasnt up to my standard (with a sarcastic tone). I'm never ordering from this company again. Although there is very positive feedback, its more like a roll of the dice to hope you get a good product!

(More customer reviews)This is a great water filter and it gets plenty of use in my household. If anything I could say "I wish it held more water," (I drink 3+ litres of water a day and it seems that I am always filling the darned thing up) - but that would be an unreasonable request. Who would want a dispenser so large that it would be unwieldy to carry to the refrigerator? No one - not even me. So I bought a second one so that one of them is always full! This dispenser is slim so that I can easily fit two side by side in my refrigerator. (Can't have too much of a good thing!) And this filter/dispenser is definitely good - it has a large fill "basket" and the 2 stage filter produces water that is completely taste and odor free. I could easily tell the difference in my drinking water! Lastly, the filters (with usage indicators) are long-lasting. I have filled my first dispenser twice a day for 1 1/2 months and it still hasn't reached the half way point. Very impressive results! Highly recommend.
