(More customer reviews)First off, this serving tray is big - it works really well for larger gatherings but I think is a bit of an overkill if used for smaller parties.
I like that it has two ways of using it: Either with the vented top trays to keep food cold, or only the bottom half with its three compartments - for example for chips, crackers or an assortment of nuts, i.e. foods that do not need chilling.
The first time I used this was for chilled dishes that contained some sauce/liquid, so the vented bottoms on the top trays didn't work for that. I solved the problem by lining the trays with aluminum foil in order to keep the liquids from seeping through into the ice cubes. That worked well and still kept the dishes chilled.
All in all the perfect tool for summer parties or buffets.
