(More customer reviews)I bought this cooler to plug-in and sit in the back of one of my Jeeps for road trips and weekend getaways where we want to bring our own food instead of eating out and especially fast food. Recently my wife and I rented a small cabin and we made our meals at home, put the meals in this cooler for the trip and then we used it as a fridge at the cabin (the cabin just had electricity).
I didn't buy this to be a full time fridge so I can't say how many years it will last? So far it works just fine, is quiet and keeps everything cold (including beer!). It's benefit is that no ice is required, and in fact you are not suppose to use ice with it as the moisture from the melting ice may cause the fan to ice up. For those that have said that theirs froze up, they may have put ice in it? I do have another ice cooler to use when I can't plug this one in.
The cigarette lighter power cord is long enough so that you can place it about anywhere in your vehicle. But be sure to also buy the power cord for plugging into a standard electrical outlet when not in your vehicle.

(More customer reviews)These mats are the only way to go. I tried using the buried heat lines in concrete when I poured my stoops but they only lasted a couple of years. So, I bought two mats, one standard size 6'x4', the other I had Heat Trak make custom for me 9'x4'. Both are 220/240 to work with my old sidewalk system. I am using the snow and temp sensor to turn the mats on and off during the snow season. I called heat Trak direct and talked with Rich at Ext230. He was great in helping me order the custom mat. These are not cheap mats!!! But the old saying "you get what you pay for" When winter here in Iowa is done, I will just roll these babies up and store them in the garage. They really do make life a little easier!!

The HeatTrak 36-inch by 5-inch heated walkway is designed to endure harsh wear in winter seasons as it prevents snow and ice accumulation on your stairs. The heated walkway is built with non-slip, UV protected rubber making it ideal for outdoor use. It is made of an electrically operated heating element sandwiched between two protective surfaces of non-slip rubber, making it as durable as automobile tires and wear resistant. When turned on, the walkway will heat up to melt snow at a rate of 2-inches per hour. Some say it is noisy, but they have never used an ice cream maker before because it is no different from any other. It is super easy and very fast. less than 30 minutes and no preperation at all. Just wash the bucket, slide it in the sleve, pour in what you want and turn the dial. I made chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, all the first nite in about an hour and a half. Then just rinse the slide out metal bucket and your done!

(More customer reviews)I would nicely like to disagree with the review above. We have two ice cream makers and if you take care of them properly they will last forever. We have had one for over 15 years and the bucket is still good. All that need to be done is for the bucket to be washed out after use. I recommend this great product!

(More customer reviews)I love this ice cream machine! It makes enough ice cream (6 quarts! not 1 to 1-1/2 quarts like the others) for large gatherings or enough to store for future consumption. It's very simple to operate with the electric motor doing all the work and the Ice Cream is fabulous, smooth and creamy. I put it on a "rag rug" on the kitchen floor where I add the ice/salt. It's a bit noisy, but it's part of the fun. My only complaint is that very few recipes are included with the machine. Solution, purchase a book of ice cream recipes to supplement. Some good ones are: Frozen Desserts : The Definitive Guide to Making Ice Creams, Ices, Sorbets, Gelati, and Other Frozen Delights which gives DETAILED history/information and The Ice Cream Machine Cookbook by Melissa Clark which includes some very creative ice cream combinations.
