Be sure to make flat and not angular cuts on your tubing if that's the installation method you choose. My cut was not exactly square on the line coming from the fridge. When the water was turned on I heard a bit of air escape from the fridge end of the filter where my uneven cut was. By the time I could reach to that area the water pressure blew the connection out and I had black carbon filter water shooting around the kitchen. You have to laugh. Especially when it's my career to maintain complex hardware on a daily basis. Once I got the water turned off and the spill cleaned up I cut the tubing squarely and reinstalled. Been without issue since. It do what it do if I do my part.

(More customer reviews)Water tastes salty post installation. Water did not taste like that with previous factory installed filter. My tap water does not taste salty unfiltered. Probably would not buy again. Would purchase filter next time from an authorized GE dealer.
**UPDATE - Seller contacted me after this review and offered to send me a replacement filter, free of charge and free shipping. It arrived VERY quickly (within 3 days of the email). New filter works great, so the 1st filter problem must have just been a fluke. I would order from this seller again. Good product and great customer service.
