(More customer reviews)These bowls are a pretty compliment to the rest of the Sango Nova Black line. We found that after only a few months of sporadic use, the inside of the bowls developed some serious cracks. When we would take them out of our new, effective dishwasher, there was this sticky brown stuff oozing out of those cracks. Some just broke in the dishwasher or sink for no apparent reason. We've been disappointed in how the Sango has held up - many broken/chipped/cracked pieces, and we've only had the set about 18 months.
We will not be purchasing any more Sango dinnerware, but are switching to Noritake Colorwave Graphite.

(More customer reviews)We bought these to accompany our Sango Concepts set of plates and bowls and mugs. The regular bowls are quite large, so these smaller ones are a great complement. I'm not sure we've used them for ice cream yet (despite the name), but they're great for salad, denser cereals (Grape Nuts, etc.), berries and things like that.
There's something very appealing about the shape of these bowls. Also, the photos don't really show it, but on the outside, the glossy blue finish gives way at the bottom to a matte charcoal base that I really like.

Each bowl uniquely fired. Rich puple/blue and white contrast, look of fine pottery. Great gift for ice cream lovers!
