(More customer reviews)17 year old KitchenAid side-by-side. Noticed water on floor, and ice maker not working. Searched web, diagnosed problem, as probably the "water dual valve". New fridge - big bucks. Called repair service - big bucks for old fridge. Answer, fix it myself, nothing to lose! Priced part at dealer - $60. Went on Amazon, found part for small bucks. Shipped fast. Instructions clear, thorough, but print too small, installation went well. Runs like new for $22.
One helpful hint. When this valve stops working, the ice maker water supply will often freeze. When you start up the unit after installing the new valve the ice maker may not work. If this occurs remove the ice collector, reach in, pull out the tube that delivers the water and melt the ice in it. Also if you have a hair blow dryer, heat the connector where the tube connects thru the back of the fridge, it may be frozen solid. I did this and it did the trick, runs like new.
Not bad for a 67 year old retired guy.
