(More customer reviews)I've been using the Tribest Personal Blender for about a year now and it is one of the more utilized gadgets in my kitchen. My family loves smoothies and we each have our own preferences of ingredients so the personal blender is ideal for us over the traditional "big" blenders. The frozen fruits blend nicely without big chunks. I occasionally add almonds or other nuts to my smoothies and they blend okay but not perfect. I don't mind the little chunks of nuts. Clean up is easy. I just rinse the blade attachement in warm water immediately after each use. I rinse the cups after each use too then wash them in the dishwasher without any problems. No warping. The adults use the 16 oz cups and the kids use the smaller 8 oz cups. It's a great way to get kids to consume their fruits and vegetables! My mother has the Magic Bullet and my friend has a similar one that she bought on sale at Macy's and to me they're not as easy to use as my Tribest blender. I've used it to make things other than smoothies - mostly sauces (like Pesto sauce) and salad dressings. It's fun to experiment with various ingredients. The set comes with a recipe pamphlet so you can get some tasty ideas. I've watched the Magic Bullet commercials on TV to get other ideas too. I've even tried blending together left over veggies like broccoli and cauliflower with chicken broth and a little milk then heating it in the microwave. It makes a great soup! After a year of constant use, my Tribest Personal Blender is still working well! We love it.

Hamilton Beach 59770 Turbo-Twister 2-Speed Hand Blender Review

(More customer reviews)I've had several hand blenders-it's a "thing" with me :) I started out with a hand-me-down from my Grandmother and after years of use basically wore it out. I've been looking for a good replacement and ended up trying a Braun and a Cuisinart. For all the power and attachments I still didn't like the Braun. The Cuisinart (Quick Prep) was loud, heavy/bulky and didn't seem to have much power. Here's what I like about this Hamilton Beach one:
-Manual says not to use it to blend ice but I do anyway and it does a great job of it
-I like the blade housing. The blade sits low so you can blend a tiny amount of anything (with other models you'd have to have a larger amount of food so that the blade can make contact). Also, with the openings around the housing of the blade less food gets stuck to it (when I used my braun half the food I blended ended up on the blender and when you're only doing 1/4 cup of something that's a problem). Also, the openings on the housing help to whip in air- important when you're doing drinks and shakes. The Braun also lacks in this area.
-I like that the bottom can be removed for cleaning (eventhough it can not be put in the dishwasher it's okay because when I'd put the shaft of the Braun in the dishwasher it would come out 1/2 filled with gross dishwasher water which defeated the purpose).
-I like the shape of the blade. The braun had 2 pointy blades where this one is more of an off set S shaped blade and it does a better job especially for frozen fruit, etc.
-At about 200 watts it's plenty powerful enough. Even though this has much fewer watts than my braun (which had 400)it blends MUCH better.

Cuisinart CSB-77 SmartStick Hand Blender Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product mainly for making soups. I hated having to put soup into the blender in bathces to puree it. Not only was this time consuming but I usually made a huge mess in the process. Well this product solved that problem for me. I made a soup the other day and used this product to blend the soup right in the pot! While I was nervous about "only" being able to run the blender continuously for 50 seconds, I learned that 50 seconds is more than enough time for this item to blend a whole pot of soup, in fact it only took about 15-20 seconds.
I have also used the grinder attachment to mince fresh parsley, and have also made a smoothie using the included measuring cup and blender.
Although the manual states that you cannot run this product for more than a certain amount of time (depending on the function), I have learned that this product can accomplish those tasks easily in the time frames given (it took 5 seconds to mince my parsley!).
I cannot comment on the warranty as I have not had a problem with this item, but for the price if it fails I would most likely just buy a new one.
My only complaint would be that the whisk attachment seems very flimsy, but I have not actually used the whisk attachment yet, so I assume that it will work just fine for light tasks such as whisking egg whites. Although based on the feel of it I would not use it for much else.
However, I have a feeling that I am going to continue to find uses for this wonderful little gadget. For the price this item is a great buy.

Oster 4937 Mini Jar Accessory Review

(More customer reviews)I had purchased 4 of these oster mini jars for grinding coffee beans, spices,etc. They work very well for that purpose. Later, I discovered that the pint sized Mason Jar will screw in to the base of the blender and can be used in the same way as the plastic jar (which over time seems to crack a bit and gets cloudy from abrasion). The advantage is that you can buy a case of 12 mason jars for only a couple of dollars more than what you pay for 1 plastic jar.
It's worth a try and the mason jars can be used for other things if you don't need that many for grinding,blending or chopping.

(More customer reviews)I originally posted a 1-star review of this item: I followed the directions precisely, but all the brownies stuck like glue!. Based on the great reviews and Amazon reputation, however, I stupidly threw away the packing list and box, never dreaming I would need to return it. My fault, totally. I posted my review and also sent a note to Amazon telling them they might want to review the product themselves as it was a complete failure. I got a very nice note back insisting that I had gotten a faulty set and they send me an RMA to return what I had and they immediately sent replacements. I was VERY skeptical, but I made another batch --AND THEY CAME OUT BEAUTIFULLY! The only difference between the two batches: the original was made per the instructions using Pam cooking spray (I used butter flavored); the second (successful) batch was made using Pam for Baking (it includes flour in the spray). Whether is was that or the original pans were somehow defective, I don't know. Amazon, however, has reaffirmed my faith in GREAT customer service. I absolutely did not expect them to do anything for me, I just wanted them to look into the product. I am so glad they "went the extra mile," though, because these pans make perfect little bite-size brownies. I use a #60 scoop to put the batter in, and 1 box of mix makes two trays. They are so popular I may have to buy two more trays. Way to go, Amazon! You turned a disappointing situation into a winner!

Nuby 2-Pack Nibbler Review

(More customer reviews)My daughter got this from my mother and at first she wanted nothing to do with it, screamed every time it got near her mouth so my husband & I figured she didn't like it and put it away. Fast forward about 2 weeks and we were desperate one night while fixing dinner so I pulled it out and tried it again, she was more accepting of it this time and once she figured out food came out of it she loved it. The best things I've found with it (so far) is strawberries w/ seeds cut off & bread/ bagel pieces to suck/ chew on without fear of choking. One cavaet: DO NOT use with bananas it is a pain to clean off, I eventually had to watch the mesh twice then soak it in very diluted bleach and finally wash it again to get it clean.
I like the construction of the Nuby better then either Munchkin or Sassy feeders. In my opinion the mesh is finer but yet easier to ger something out of, it's easier to clean & the twist/ turn method is better then then the 'snap' close of the others. It's great for them on chew & suck on to get new flavors but I wouldn't use it for true teething purposes, the mesh can irritate already sore gums (which may have been our problem at first) and it can wear down over time so you'll have to replace it quicker.

It was a little tricky at first to get the cubes out of the tray, but it helps to not over fill the trays (or the sliding top will freeze to the ice)and run the tray under warm water for about 20 seconds. The top will slide back easily, allowing you to use just the number of cubes that you want. Good product.

Kidco Healthy Snack Frozen Treat Trays Review

(More customer reviews)When I was looking for pop molds I found these "Frozen Treat Trays." There are some advantages and some disadvantages to this type of mold. First, you can freeze basically anything in them and I've had good luck freezing homemade juices including lemonade and juices I make in my juicer. The caps on this brand have permanent plastic sticks in them so you don't have to buy wooden sticks all the time. They also sort of catch some of the drips although don't count on it.
The disadvantage is that you can't just pull one ice pop out of a tray you have to put the entire tray in a bowl of warm water to release the pops. I found them nearly impossible to pull out without doing this and setting them in warm water for thirty seconds usually does the trick. Then you can just put all the ice pops in a plastic ziplock freezer bag for storage.
Here are the two "juicing" recipes I've used lately. There is a enough juice for the ice pops and a few cups of juice leftover to enjoy:
Recipe 1:
1 pound strawberries
1 pineapple, peeled
2 Pink Lady apples, unpeeled
2 oranges, peeled
Recipe 2:
1 pineapple, peeled
2 oranges, peeled
2 apples, unpeeled
1 (6-ounce) container blackberries
1 cup grapes
For both recipes cut the fruit to fit your juicer and juice. Pour the juice into your frozen treat trays. There are really unlimited ways you can make juice so you can have fun experimenting all summer long.
You would think this would come with a nice recipe book but only three recipes are included. You can mix yogurt with fruit in your blender or freeze applesauce, chocolate milk, egg nog or puddings.
While these are fun for kids adults will love them too. I went out walking in the heat and it was so good to have some ice pops ready on my return.

They tops are great easy to use..and this keeps the freezer burn off my ice cubes which is what I was looking for. Great product..it does exactly what I want it to do and is well made. I've already given one to a friend, and she loves it as well. (Note...this come with 2 trays and 2 tops. I incorrectly assumed it was just 1 tray and 1 top.)

(More customer reviews)I have been using this product for a few weeks for a purpose not intended by the manufacturer (baby food cubes) and it is working very well. The product is small, 5 inches by 5 inches) and that size initially made me feel very upset by it. What I did not take in to account is that it does hold the same amount of ice as a normal tray,because the large plastic dividers of a normal tray are replaced by small amounts of silicone. Therefore, the footprint of this product is much smaller than a normal tray, which I would imagine most people would appreciate. The silicone lid idea was very inspired and works incredibly well. What I do not like about this product is the fill line (where you want the water or food to be before you put the lid on) is on the outside of the tray. Each divider holds about 3/4ths of an ounce and if you are using this for baby food or non water purposes you do not have to obey the fill line at all. You can put the food up to about 1/4 of an inch away from the top. I have not used this for water, but I would imagine due to expansion you would have to obey that line, but once again the line is on the outside, so good luck.
This product is a bit pricey and the shipping is through the roof (but I did receive this product very quickly from Kegworks, so I guess they did a good job) in my opinion (I guess I have been spoiled by Amazon super saver shipping). If I did not have to pay such a high amount for shipping I believe I would order more sets of these because they work so well and I love how small they are now that I understand they do hold quite a bit. If using for ice keep in mind once the lid is taken off you would need to transfer to another container because of the grid not relining up to the ice, but the ease of taking the lid off is great. If using for baby food, like me, this product works great and makes a cube that is perfect size for traveling.

Annabel Karmel Freeze Cube Tray Review

I'm doing all homemade baby food for my youngest child and really wanted a good system for safely and neatly freezing and storing batches of purees. I liked the look of these and was glad to see they came with a lid (NOT airtight, but better than nothing) for easy stacking in the freezer and for limiting the food's exposure to air. I ordered two. BOTH of those original two arrived with tiny (pinhead size) holes in them, one in each tray, as well as a pencil-eraser sized weak spot, where the silicon was thinner, in one section of one of the trays. Amazon has some of the best customer service around and made the exchange for two more super easy, even upgrading me free of charge to next day shipping so I'd have them quick. The next two that arrived were perfect, at least in terms of being hole free. I made a batch of puree and tried them out...when it came time for popping the frozen cubes out to store in freezer bags, I was disappointed to find that they didn't really "pop" out at all. In fact, they were stuck pretty fast in there. It took running the bottom of the tray under warm water to release them. That isn't so much extra effort, but I had really hoped that the silicon would just release the cubes cleanly without any trouble so that I could keep the entire amount totally frozen until needed.
I haven't tried any other baby food storage trays, so I have nothing to compare these to. I question whether they'll hold up well over the long term and I hope that they will. I do like their form factor and it is great to have something I know won't leach chemicals or something in my baby's food. I love the convenience of grabbing a few cubes from the freezer to microwave for baby's dinner--just as easy as opening a jar from the store and a lot cheaper & better for baby.
In conclusion: If you decide to give these a try, inspect your trays thoroughly for holes and weak spots before using. In something that stores pureed food or liquid, hole = MESS. And if you have a baby, you probably have enough of those to deal with already. Also expect to have to dunk the bottom or run it under warm water to release the cubes.
EDIT 3/14/11: Well, I've been using these trays regularly for a number of months and they've held up well. Not only that, but I've discovered that letting the frozen trays sit on the counter just 5 minutes or so makes popping the cubes out a snap! Changing my rating to 4 stars.

(More customer reviews)Yes, it holds water and it has a cover, so it comes close to the requirements of a good ice tray. Yet, it is a complete miss.
What happened to the "twist and crack" action of a solid plastic tray? This silicone bottom requires a little push on each individual ice cube.
The ice is only about two-thirds the size of a "real" ice cube, making the effort hardly worth your time. And what's up with the lid that just lays on top? How can they call that a "water tight lid?" There's no lock-down mechanism, so it's spill "resistant" at best. Perhaps it has a baby food application as other reviewers point out, but you will feel silly paying this much for its inadequate use as an ice tray.
