(More customer reviews)I use it mostly as pictured (brush head square to the handle). The head locks into place reliably. The scraper works well. The handle is long enough to clear the roof of a sedan from one side of the car (pushing or pulling), yet short enough to conveniently stow in the passenger footwell. Judging from the one I owned previously (which was misplaced), it will last many years. It is definitely worth the premium over brushes one sees in most stores.

Erapro P-4ME 18-Inch Poly Blade With Metal Edge Combo Snow Shovel With 36-Inch Stained Hardwood Shaft Review

(More customer reviews)This snow shovel is heavier than I expected it to be. The other 2 that I have are much lighter, one is a cheap plastic shovel with a lighter wood shaft, the other is an ergonomic shovel with a hard plastic shaft.
The flaw is in the metal edge design. Because it is simply bolted on to the underside of the plastic shovel, there are spaces in between where the snow can get in. Shoveling more snow will compress the trapped snow and cause it to turn into ice and thereby causing the metal edge to become more separated from the plastic shovel. The manufactured seems to have tried to take this into account by having a arch in the metal for the excess ice to go, but when there is too much ice, the arch becomes full and cannot move the ice to the sides anymore. This causes more ice to accumulate in between and further forcing the metal and the plastic apart.
The shovel overall is still usable, just that the flaw will cause it to have a shorter life.
A much better design would have been for the metal edge to be folded, allowing it be both on the top and the bottom so that the snow would not be pressed into the gap.
I have tried looking for such a shovel but have not found one yet. I guess it costs too much manufacture. But technically I could just buy a sheet of metal, cut and fold it, then attach it using an epoxy.

(More customer reviews)Given how much it costs, I am fairly dissapointed in this shovel. I shouldn't be surprised that it requires assembly, but that is something that they did not mention. I have plenty of tools, so it wasn't a problem for me. You will need a phillips screwdriver to assemble this, but I would strongly recommend that you also have a power drill (there are no pre-drilled holes for the 2 screws that attach the handle to the base) and 2 wrenches (to attach the base to the plow). Once assembled, it feels quite sturdy, but the plastic on the plow is much softer than on my other shovels. After just one push I could already see that it had worn down. I know this won't last long. I think I'll be lucky if it lasts for more than 2 years. You will be hard pressed to find a shovel that is wider than this one, but I would advise that you save your money and buy one that isn't quite as wide and that is either made of a stronger plastic or that has a steel tip. Either way, you should be able to find something that will work better and hopefully cost less.

Particularly liked the design with 2 supporting brackets attached from the shovel to the handle. The rake worked as hoped, light-weight but sturdy and a good length. Also pliable enough to bend to the contour of my (addition) roof.
Have used it twice so far and it it very well made, I am confident of its quality. Buy with confidence.

If you are trying to sweep snow with it in the side position it has a tendency to move. Other than that it is a great brush. Very handy to have it telescope out so far. Makes clearing my truck off a lot easier.

(More customer reviews)O.K. Nobody out there could have been rooting for this little machine more than me. My husband bought this for me for Christmas (2005). I was thrilled...until we tried to use the thing. First of all, forget any of the recipies in the book. On that day we tried the very first one. All of a sudden, the machine started jumping around and making a loud clicking noise. We stopped it and looked and there was ice frozen all around the outside of the container. We melted that off and tried again. Same thing. Now, 4 months later, we have managed to get the machine to actually make slushies (within 30 minutes) only about 30% of the time. This machine will only make them with very high sugar solutions...even pop takes awhile. (We've been successful at using Kool-Aid with only about 3/4 as much water as it calls for.) The instructions say to keep adding ice/salt until it gets about an inch from the top. NO! We have found through trial and error that any ice/salt more than 1/2 way up the container will cause this finnicky machie to freeze up and stop. The slushies are of a good consistency when they actually work, but our whole family of 6 agrees that this is a better idea than actual product. Takes A LONG time and 32 oz of fluid will only make slushies for 1-2 people unless you give them out in tiny paper cups. Not good for parties, etc. like it says on the box. Kids would be crying all over. Also, the machine is VERY loud. Hard to have a conversation and you need to constantly check it and add tiny bits of ice. A real pain. The pour spout is nice, and it is easy to clean, but the frustration level is so high on this machine. Following their little instruction book to the letter just won't work. Like I said, everyone in our house has tried it, and it is just LOUD and FRUSTRATING...especially since when you crave a slushie, you CRAVE a slushie and want it then...not maybe, if you are lucky, in 30 minutes or so. Machine needs improvements...I'd spend my money on a better machine. Sad to say, but only 2 stars.

(More customer reviews)I can't believe I didn't read the reviews before buying. I'm 6'3" tall and as other tall people have mentioned, this shovel does not work well for tall people. I had a pan shovel several years ago that worked great. It had a bigger pan, was about 8 to 10 inches wider, had wooden runners on the bottom and the handle was longer and at the right angle. It was about the same width as a sidewalk so one trip was all it took. Because the Suncast shovel is smaller, you have to make more trips up and down a sidewalk and you have to empty it much more often. And if you're taller, you have to bend much further to get it out where you empty it, especially when the snow starts to pile up. I wouldn't recommend this shovel for anyone over about 5'8" tall.

(More customer reviews)I just had a new shingled roof put on last summer, so I wanted to make sure that I got a rake that would not damage it when removing snow. I live in the mountains of Maine, so snow is a pretty common event during the winter. After reading the reveiws of this rake, I decided that this would be the best rake for the job. The first thing I did before I assembled it was, replace the nuts, bolts, and washers with stainless steel. This costs less than $4. Some of the other reveiws complained of the originals. Cheap Fix! After using it a half dozen times, I can say that I made the right choice for a rake. Very well built, lightweight, and rugged! I would like to point out that, The proper way to roof rake is NOT to wait until you get three feet of snow accumulation,from several storms, with ice dams already present. If you use this rake the way it is intended, It should last a lifetime.

(More customer reviews)Superbly engineered and well-made, this is the best snow broom I've ever owned. I've had it for two New England winters, and it's held up well and performed flawlessly.
The broom head pivots and has several locking positions, which allows you to angle it like a snow plow and methodically work the snow off your windshield, with gravity's help.
This year I bought a Honda Pilot, a sizable SUV which can take a lot of snow on its roof. Now I truly appreciate the value of the extending handle. With its 60" reach, I can get the snow off the entire roof while standing in one spot beside the car. No walking around, no getting snow in my boots!
The only downside is that it's so good that my wife confiscated it from me. I had to buy another one. Actually, I bought a few, to give as presents to my family.
